Linda Spann, CEO of hotflops™ is the flip behind the flop. Like her extraordinary hotflops, Linda Spann's route to the fashion world is unusual. She may be the only designer in her business with not only an engineering degree, but a commercial pilot's license.
Born and raised in the Chicago, Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation with a minor in Business. She was one of only three women in the graduating class who earned their Airframe and Power Plant Certification License, qualifying her to work on anything from hot air balloons to space shuttles. Who would have thought it would prepare her to create the unique patented design for hotflops.
After graduation, between take-offs and landings, Linda was offered a position in property management, where she quickly expanded her portfolio to include over 1000 apartment units and 40 staff members. In 1986 Linda was offered a position in Santa Barbara, California managing a rental portfolio for a local investor.

Within months, she was managing apartment buildings, house rentals, commercial space and two hotels. It was during this period that Linda gained her well-deserved reputation as a shrewd business woman restructuring her client's portfolio to include the purchase of a luxury hotel and growing the original investment into a multi-million dollar business.
Linda served as General Manager of the luxury hotel for a number of years and during that time she married her husband, a prominent Santa Barbara Architect. It was on their Hawaiian honeymoon that Linda conceived the idea of hotflops using her engineering background. Based on those original concepts, she developed and patented the special one-piece thong mold and related concepts that make hotflops unique.
Linda currently resides in Santa Barbara, California with her husband and four children and is busy living her dream to make the most comfortable, long wearing and hot flop come true.
